Connecting finance to client needs

Corporate & Investment banker with a passion for strategy and entrepreneurship, Stéphane Izard began his career in sunny Réunion Island by supporting innovation and R&D projects by local businesses within a public body later merged into the Bpifrance bank.

He then joined the Société Générale Group's investment bank in Paris, where he worked in a number of front-office roles in leveraged finance, corporate finance, maritime sector finance and M&A.

He then moved to London and was involved in a number of innovative projects, including the setting up of the first CLO arranged by Société Générale, before turning again to financing activities in the media and telecom sector.

Returning to Paris in 2009, he joined the Investment Bank's Risk Department. Working in the Special Affairs department, he supervised and negotiated numerous restructuring agreements with distressed companies in France and in a dozen other countries in and outside Europe. He is also involved in various regulatory and compliance projects, the dynamic monitoring of credit portfolios "watch list", and also in internal training initiatives.
